The Ocean of Dreams Foundation was established in May 2011.

 

The activities of the Foundation focus on discovering the strengths of young girls and boys from Children’s Homes, in order to give them motivation to realise their dreams and reach goals in their daily lives. We equip them with a sound experience, gained on board on a number of yachts and ships. When sailing around lakes, seas or the ocean, they discover new opportunities, meet new friends, and learn how to co-operate in a group, where trust and responsibility are basis of everyday life. Currently the Foundation serves 1000 children from Children’s Homes from the Masovian, Lublin, Pomeranian and West-Pomeranian Districts.

The Foundation in numbers: since 2011 our youth have participated in 56 sailing trips in the Mazury Lake District and in 18 sea sailing trips, during which they sailed 12,361 nautical miles. We held 7 practical training courses for the Certificate of Competence, at which we educated 28 yachties who at the moment are the Certificate of Competence holders. We still continue working on their development.

 

On 17 May 2011 the Foundation was registered in the National Court Register (KRS) under KRS no: 0000384901, and on 29 November 2013 it received the status of a public benefit organization.
